On an afternoon in Nepal I took a walk through the old part of Patan. I found myself in the small temple complex that included Hiranya Varna Mahavihar, also known more commonly as the Golden Temple. The setting sun offered me the opportunity to catch it sneaking up behind the crowded temples while letting its warmth bleed into the frames and bringing the Gold to life. In 2015 the Gorkha Earthquake devestated Nepal, killing more than 9,000 people, leveling villages and destroying many of the ancient temples in this Patan district.
